Pros and cons

Pros

  • PitneyShip Cube starts at $24.99, which is a modest way into a metered mailroom.
  • Contracts sit with Pitney Bowes Inc., so a single company stands behind the meter and the label printer.
  • The business is headquartered in the United States, in Shelton, Connecticut, with offices across the globe.

Cons

  • Rates are limited to shipping from the United States, so a reader elsewhere buys without a rate card for their own country.
  • The recorded price belongs to PitneyShip Cube at $24.99, not to the meters, label printers, shredders or binding machines in the range.
  • Paperwork sits with Pitney Bowes Inc., a company headquartered in the United States, so a reader outside the US buys across a border.

Who it suits

  • US offices that meter post and print shipping labels daily.
  • Offices already running Pitney Bowes hardware that need shredders or binding machines alongside it.
  • Small teams that want metering and record disposal handled by a single supplier.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Offices outside the US that need rates for their own market.
  • Buyers who want the entry figure to cover a franking machine or a label printer as well as the shipping subscription.

The company behind it

The meters, label printers, shredders and binding machines all come from Pitney Bowes Inc., the entity behind the Pitney Bowes name, so contracts and invoices carry a single identifiable company. It is headquartered in the United States, in Shelton, Connecticut, and describes offices across the globe. Setup and servicing questions are answered through the company's own help centre, where articles sit around each equipment line rather than through an unrelated call line. For an office manager who keeps a machine on the desk for years, that matters: parts, meter servicing and fault questions stay with the supplier that built and sold the device. A reader comparing brands should still read the warranty wording on the product page, because the help centre covers day-to-day operation while the paperwork covers ownership and cover length. Budget readers should treat the meters, printers and finishing equipment as separate lines from the shipping subscription.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to get started with Pitney Bowes?+

The published figure is $24.99 for PitneyShip Cube, described as a complete mailing and shipping solution. That number sits with the subscription rather than the hardware, so an office buying a meter, a label printer, a shredder or a binding machine should treat the equipment as a separate line to check.

Which countries do the rates cover?+

Rates are limited to shipping from the United States. An office inside the US can meter and print on the same rate card, while a reader in Europe needs a supplier whose rates already cover their own market before comparing prices for a label printer or a shredder.

Who am I actually buying from?+

The legal entity behind the brand is Pitney Bowes Inc. Contracts, invoices and warranty paperwork carry that name, which matters when an office signs for a meter or a shipping subscription and wants a single address to chase when a device faults.

Where is the company based?+

The business is headquartered in the United States, in Shelton, Connecticut, and describes offices across the globe. Buyers weighing a supplier for their own country should check delivery, parts and service arrangements locally, since a US base shapes who ships the hardware.

Does the entry price cover the machines as well?+

The figure $24.99 covers the PitneyShip Cube subscription only. Meters, label printers, shredders and binding machines are sold alongside it, so a reader planning a mailroom should expect the software and the hardware to appear as separate lines on a quote.

Who does Pitney Bowes suit?+

It suits a US office that meters post, prints labels and shreds records with a single supplier, since the company behind the brand is Pitney Bowes Inc. and the shipping subscription starts at $24.99. Readers outside the US should check rates for their own market first.

Can one supplier cover the whole office kit?+

The company sells franking machines, label printers, shredders and binding machines, so metering and finishing can sit with the same supplier. The subscription tied to PitneyShip Cube starts at $24.99, and the equipment with its consumables needs a quote of its own.
