Pros and cons

Pros

  • The online design tool is free, so you can set out the artwork yourself before anything is ordered.
  • The catalogue runs from stickers and posters to clothing, mugs, bags and candles, all customizable in the same tool.
  • Mugs start from $3.68, so a test run costs little.
  • Help reaches you while a job is in production, by chat with a support agent, a written message, a searchable help centre or a seller community.
  • Printify Development SIA, based in Latvia, has been running since 2015.

Cons

  • Every design is yours to place in the design tool, so you need artwork of your own or the time to make it.
  • The company sits in Latvia, so delivery options and any duties for a market outside the US and Europe are worth checking first.

Who it suits

  • You want to design your own products and buy in small runs, with mugs from $3.68.
  • You would rather approve artwork yourself than pay a designer, using the free design tool.
  • You want to reach a person while printing is under way, whether by live conversation, written message or peer forum.

Who should look elsewhere

  • You want someone else to handle the artwork, since placing text and images is left to you.
  • You need a firm total for a large order, since $3.68 is a starting point rather than a fixed sum.

Who runs it

The company behind the site is Printify Development SIA, registered in Latvia. It was founded in 2015, so this is an established operation rather than a storefront that opened recently. That matters when you are handing over artwork and money for a run of printed items and want to know who stands behind the order. Help runs on email, chat, help centre and more. That covers a live chat, a written message, a self-serve help centre and a community for peer answers. Chat is the quickest route once printing has started, since a live agent can look at the order while you talk, and the help centre is the place for the questions that come up often. The business is based there, and the service is aimed at sellers and small business owners in the US and Europe. Check the delivery options for your own address before you finalise artwork, since another market can change both the shipping cost and the time a run takes to arrive.

How Printify compares

Frequently asked questions

How much do products cost at Printify?+

Mugs begin at $3.68, and the entry figure is shown with Printify Premium in the price list. The amount you approve follows the product, size, finish and any extras you pick, so the screen is the figure that matters when you compare options.

Is the online design tool free?+

Yes, the tool costs nothing to use, and it lets you fully customize a product before you order. You place text and images inside the print area and check how the result will look. Nothing reaches the printer until you approve it, and you can put a small test order in for $3.68.

Who runs Printify?+

Printify Development SIA is the legal entity behind the site, based in Latvia. It was founded in 2015 and trades under that name, so there is a named company behind the artwork and money you hand over rather than an anonymous storefront.

Which countries does Printify serve?+

Its base is Latvia and the service is set up for sellers and small business owners in the US and Europe, which is where pricing, checkout and delivery options are built. If you order from another market, check delivery and any duties for your address before artwork is final.

How do I get help with an order?+

Printify Development SIA is the company behind the answers as well as the printing. When a job is already in production, talking to a support agent in real time is the fastest way in, and a written message, a searchable help centre and a peer forum cover the rest. Keep your order number to hand.

Who does Printify suit?+

Printify fits you if you want to run the design side yourself and print modest runs. The tool adds nothing to your costs, and the entry price of $3.68 keeps a trial order inexpensive. It suits owners who are happy placing text and images and approving the result.

How long has Printify been running?+

Trading runs back to 2015, which is a signal worth weighing when you entrust artwork and money to an online printer. Terms, shipping charges and pricing can move over time, so read the current version at the point of ordering rather than an older visit.
